Dear Friends,
Today I found the answer to a question that I wanted to know very much, "What happens to the ants when it rains?"
I was standing outside the classroom during the maths period. I looked on the ground and I realised that raindrops had started to fall. Then I also saw a few ants being exposed to the rain.
As each second passed the rain was getting heavier and heavier. The ants felt it and immediately headed back to the sheltered corridor. I was particularly fascinated by one ant, who moved slower than the others.
Though the raindrops kept falling and hitting it off course, it still pushed on towards the corridor. Everytime it was hit, the ant moved around it, only to be hit by another raindrop. The ground was getting wetter and wetter and it was getting harder for the ant to move (imagine yourself wading waist high in water)
Finally, when it was quite close to the corridor, I could not resist helping it by using my bag to shelter it all the way. Of course, it still had to struggle as the ground was very wet then. But, it finally made it. When I looked up and looked down later, all the ants had disappeared, probably went back into their nest.
That got me thinking.
We should make the most of our time when we are young (less raindrops and water), and we can go faster. Later in life the raindrops will fall more frequently. When we are bombarded by a problem (raindrop), we should maybe not try to wade through it, but move around it instead. Take another path. And keep going. If you stop, you will drown. The momentum is important, so keeping going. It might get harder and harder (heavy raindrops and lots of water).
Once you reach the last part of your life, God will protect you from the raindrops, and though now you will still be burdened with age (like the ant having to wade through the water), when you return to your nest, it will be finally free from both raindrops, and the water.
Aaron
