Balance

Friends,

It is a normal routine, now, for me to write something to you. I basically love writing, especially about these things.

Today I read in the newspaper an article which reminded me of the childcare centres closing later. It was indeed, an unpleasant shock to me that many people were very happy about that idea. I am guessing that the government was too, because they wanted Singaporeans to have more children.

True enough, our birth rates have been plummeting. People now have fewer and fewer children, as their life gets more and more hectic. Costs and burdens of raising a family here are very high. So, today, instead of concentrating and lamenting about school life, I'll talk about how our future life might end up.

As you know, life for Singaporeans is very hectic. We have to do a lot of work, and people are too tired to have sex when they return. I am guessing that this isn't the life many Singaporeans want. Even when they have a child, they will drop their child off at the childcare centre, or let their maid take care of him/her, if they are well off.

Most parents both have jobs. They leave their child at the childcare centre, or with their maid. When their child needs to go to school, they will then hire tuition teachers.

For me it was different. I have never been left at a childcare centre as long as I can remember. My mum quit her job as a teacher to help to raise her 3 children. She did everything. She was the cook, the chauffeur, the cleaner, the gardener etc etc. For all her love she gave to us I am very grateful.

I never needed to attend tuition sessions all my life. It was the same for one of my best friends. He never did too. Though my mum could work as a teacher and send me to tuition sessions, and still earn more money this way, she didn't choose to do so. I think this is because she found her purpose-- being a mother.

Some of you, of course, may be the same. But what I am emphasising on isn't the tuition, it is that, we should always remember to place emphasis on family over work. Now, for many many people, they do not understand the Universal Laws at all. Not one bit. That is why they have to work so hard, to struggle in life. It costs them a lot.

If however, they spend time doing the things that they like, that is perfectly fine. In fact, that is a good thing. But, a person should always learn Balance. It is, very important.

So, what kind of a life will you have next time?

Aaron
